Sri Lanka Karate Do Federation (SLKF)

The Sri Lanka Karate Do Federation (SLKF) was founded in 1975 under the Ministry of Sports (Reg. No. 07) to promote and grow Karate across the country. We’re dedicated to making Karate a well-respected martial art and competitive sport by organizing training programs, self-defense workshops, and tournaments at school, district, and national levels. As the official governing body for Karate in Sri Lanka, we support various styles and focus on high-quality training, coaching, and officiating. Our mission is to develop top athletes, create champions, and strengthen Sri Lanka’s presence in international Karate competitions.

SLKF is officially recognized and affiliated with

World Karate Federation

The World Karate Federation (WKF) is the official governing body for Karate worldwide, recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It promotes and regulates the sport globally, organizing major championships and uniting national federations.

Asian Karate Federation

The Asian Karate Federation (AKF) promotes and develops Karate across Asia, organizing major competitions and working under the World Karate Federation (WKF) to support the sport.

Commonwealth Karate Federation

The Commonwealth Karate Federation (CKF) promotes and develops Karate across Commonwealth nations, organizing championships and supporting the sport under the World Karate Federation (WKF).

South Asian Karate Do Federation

The South Asian Karate Do Federation (SAKF) works to develop and promote Karate across South Asian countries, organizing regional championships and supporting the sport under the Asian Karate Federation (AKF) and World Karate Federation (WKF).

National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL) promotes Olympic sports in Sri Lanka, supports athletes, and represents the country in the Olympic Movement under the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
